In the past few years there has been considerable progress concerning the invention of household robot servants, but will these helpful machines make the world better, or get the better of our world? Research and development of these robots is increasing with people inventing robots that can serve drinks, fold towels, and many other helpful tasks.
Of course the robot that folded towels did take about 25 minutes per towel, but it surely can't be long before it's speed significantly improves, at the rate technology is advancing this century.
So the question is: are these robots really going to benefit us?
I think they could. These robots can help you do all your boring household tasks that everybody hates doing. They could cook food for you if you were too busy to prepare it yourself (or if you were too lazy). Then you would have more time to do fun things and hang out with your friends.
But I also think they might not benefit us. Along with all this help with our jobs, will we as humans remain the same? We could become more selfish people, now that we have a robot to do our bidding. We could become more lazy (like I said earlier). Then what happens when there isn't a robot around to help us out? Maybe we'll expect someone else to cook meals and such because we aren't used to doing it ourselves. Then people might get into arguments more often.
So I think the invention of robot servants will be a great thing, as long as we keep an eye on it, so to speak. If we have robots and we don't watch ourselves, we could become lazy, selfish people. If that happened, these robots wouldn't be so great of an invention.
